For fifteen years David England ran his own IT systems consultancy. During the 1990s he trained for seven years to become a counsellor and psychotherapist, whilst simultaneously working as an independent IT consultant.  

David qualified as a counsellor in 1996 and as a psychotherapist and group worker in 1998. He completed a successful IT career early in 1999. He has since run a private psychotherapy and counselling practice in Maidenhead. 

He trained to be a psychotherapist and group worker at the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London. Psychosynthesis is a mainstream psychology which is concerned with the impact of past experiences upon the present. At the same time, Psychosynthesis is concerned with the future, what may be emerging in a person's life. 

David also works as a course tutor on an MA psychotherapy programme. And he is a professional storyteller, a member of Equity, and sometimes weaves storytelling into his work as a psychotherapist.
